122 stations of underwater video footage and still images were collected from the Carnarvon Shelf between 12 August and 15 September 2008 by the R.V. Solander. The survey was conducted by Geoscience Australia in collaboration with the Australian Institute of Marine Science as part of the CERF Marine Biodiversity Hub's Surrogates Program. The objective was to gather co-located data to test physical parameters as surrogates for benthic biodiversity patterns.
Video footage was originally recorded to mini DV tapes and copied to digital format; the original tapes are archived at AIMS-WA.
