Geoscience Australia collected underwater video footage and 12-megapixel still images during the SOL5117 survey in the Joseph Bonaparte Gulf between 30 July and 30 September 2010. The survey was a collaboration with the Australian Institute of Marine Science and the Museum and Art Gallery of the Territory, aiming to map geohazards and sensitive seabed environments. Data was gathered from 79 stations across two legs using a towed underwater camera system.
