Description
A region of the SWIRE Spitzer Legacy survey, centered at RA and Dec of 10:46:00, +59:01:00 (J2000), was observed with the VLA at 324.5 MHz for almost 85 hours on-source between 2006 February and 2007 January. This table contains a catalog of sources detected above 5 sigma from one of the deepest radio continuum surveys at a wavelength of ~1 meter, created by the HEASARC in September 2010 based on a CDS catalog. The reference paper discusses source angular sizes, spectral indices calculated with a 20-cm survey of the same field, and log N-log S counts showing a flattening below 5 mJy.
Use Cases
Analyzing the angular size distribution of radio sources as discussed in the reference paper.
Calculating spectral indices for sources using the deeper 20-cm survey data mentioned.
Studying the log N-log S source counts at 90 cm to investigate the flattening below 5 mJy.
Investigating the radio luminosity of sources at a median redshift of z ~ 1 to differentiate between AGN and star-forming galaxy populations.
Strengths
Observations represent one of the deepest radio continuum surveys at ~1 meter wavelength.
Data includes spectral index calculations by cross-referencing a deeper 20-cm survey of the same field.
Total on-source observation time was almost 85 hours, providing a deep integration.
Catalog includes sources detected above a 5 sigma threshold, indicating a reliability filter.
Limitations
Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Observations were affected by the EVLA upgrade, with only 22 and 18 working antennae typically available, reducing effective integration time and u-v coverage.
Provenance
Source
National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA HEASARC), based on CDS catalog J/AJ/137/4846/.
Collection Method
Observations made with the VLA in A and C configurations at 324.5 MHz, with data reduction and analysis described in a reference paper.
Time Range
Observations conducted between 2006 February and 2007 January.
