Description
Five major VMS deposits—Fyre Lake, Kudz Ze Kayah, GP4F, Wolverine, and Ice—with detailed tonnage and metal grade figures are documented in the Yukon-Tanana Terrane. The dataset covers mineralization across southeastern Yukon, Dawson, Glenlyon, Teslin-Rancheria areas, and parts of Alaska, produced by the Government of Yukon. It was last updated on 2026-04-17.
Use Cases
Resource estimation modeling based on detailed deposit tonnage and grade figures
Geological mapping and correlation based on stratigraphic host rock descriptions
Regional exploration targeting based on the distribution of VMS occurrences across Yukon and Alaska
Comparative analysis of deposit types based on metal content (Cu, Zn, Pb, Ag, Au) across different stratigraphic successions
Strengths
Contains specific tonnage and grade figures for five major deposits (e.g., Wolverine: 6,237,000 tonnes, 12.66% Zn)
Provides detailed geological context including stratigraphic position, host rock types, and terrane information
Describes a regional scope covering multiple districts in Yukon, British Columbia, and Alaska
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download
Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment
Data may reflect geographic bias inherent to the open_canada platform's focus on Canadian regions
