A research study presents the first water quality model for a 36.8 km stretch of the Poti river in the semiarid region of Brazil. The dataset, created by Antônio Alves De Oliveira Filho, models dissolved oxygen, biochemical oxygen demand, and thermotolerant coliforms using the QUAL-UFMG platform. Calibration resulted in mean deviations up to 20% and Nash-Sutcliffe efficiency coefficients higher than 0.75.
