NODC-processed mechanical bathythermograph (MBT) data from the CHICAGO cruise in the North Pacific Ocean. The dataset contains temperature-depth profile pairs recorded at uniform 5-meter intervals to a maximum depth of approximately 285 meters. It was collected and standardized by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration during a one-month period from November 2 to December 1, 1964.
Data is useful only for studying the thermal structure of the ocean's upper layers due to instrument depth limitations. Platform metadata is inconsistent, with NASA Earthdata providing minimal information.
