Description
Wageningen, Netherlands, is the location for weed count data collected on contiguous quadrats in an arable field over three consecutive years (2001, 2002, 2003) prior to herbicide application. The data were collected and analyzed by S. Heijting and colleagues at Wageningen University & Research, as detailed in multiple peer-reviewed publications and a PhD thesis. Data for each year are available in CSV and Excel formats.
Use Cases
Testing the spatial stability of weed patches over time based on multi-year quadrat counts.
Applying two-dimensional spatial analysis methodologies to ecological count data from contiguous quadrats.
Analyzing spatial count data patterns, such as weed distributions, using statistical tests like Mead's test.
Strengths
Data covers three consecutive years (2001, 2002, 2003), enabling temporal analysis.
Collection methodology and species details are documented in a specific peer-reviewed publication (page 383).
Data is supported by multiple peer-reviewed publications and a PhD thesis, providing strong academic provenance.
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
