Prospective gating and automatic reacquisition were implemented to enable cardio-respiratory synchronized T1 mapping of the whole mouse in MRI scans. The method, developed by Paul Kinchesh at the University of Oxford, acquired data with a voxel size of 0.075 mm3 and completed scans in less than 14 minutes. The standard deviation in the T1 measurement is conservatively estimated to be less than 6.2%.
