Description
A Web Map Service (WMS) presents NUTS (Nomenclature of Territorial Units for Statistics) boundaries for Germany at a scale of 1:5,000,000. The data, provided by the German Federal Agency for Cartography and Geodesy (BKG), includes hierarchical levels NUTS1 (countries), NUTS2 (administrative regions), and NUTS3 (district-free cities and districts). The geometry is derived from the VG5000 administrative areas database.
Use Cases
Mapping German regional statistics based on the standardized NUTS hierarchy.
Aggregating national data to NUTS2 'Statistical Regions' for EU reporting.
Performing spatial joins using the derived geometry from the VG5000 database.
