Zooplankton data were collected using net casts from the THOMAS G. THOMPSON research vessel in the Arabian Sea. The collection period spanned from 19 August 1995 to 22 December 1995. The work was conducted by the University of California in Santa Cruz with support from the Joint Global Ocean Flux Study / Arabian (JGOFS/Arabian).
Use Cases
- Analyze zooplankton community composition based on net cast samples
- Study seasonal changes in marine ecosystems based on the four-month collection period
- Model oceanic carbon flux based on data collected for the JGOFS/Arabian program
Strengths
- Data collected over a four-month period from August to December 1995
- Sourced from a specific research vessel, THOMAS G. THOMPSON, in the Arabian Sea
- Associated with a major scientific program, the Joint Global Ocean Flux Study
Limitations
- Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download
- Last updated 1995-12-22 00:00:00; freshness should be verified
- Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment
