Zooplankton data were collected using net casts from the vessel FRANCISCO DE ULLOA. The data cover the North Pacific Ocean for the period from 01 January 1999 to 31 January 1999. The data were submitted by the Center for Scientific Investigation and Higher Education, Ensenada, Mexico, with support from the IMECOCAL project.
Use Cases
- Analyze zooplankton community composition based on net cast sampling.
- Study seasonal zooplankton dynamics in the North Pacific Ocean.
- Model marine ecosystem health based on planktonic indicator species.
- Validate satellite-derived ocean productivity estimates with in-situ biological data.
- Assess the impact of ocean currents on plankton distribution based on geographic sampling.
Strengths
- Data collection is temporally focused on a specific month (January 1999).
- Geographic scope is defined as the North Pacific Ocean.
- Data origin is documented from a specific research vessel and institution.
Limitations
- Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
- Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
- Last updated 1999-01-31 00:00:00; freshness should be verified.
