A survey conducted between 28 January 1981 and 13 February 1981 by Cefas on the vessel Cirolana. It includes station, catch, length, and biological data for 45 species from 118 stations in the North Sea, supporting EU regulations and the International Bottom Trawl Survey. The survey also collected benthic, water temperature, salinity, and litter data using standardized trawls and bottles.
Cefas conducted the CIRO 2/79 survey as part of the North Sea Groundfish Survey in February 1979. The dataset includes station, catch, length, and biological data for 47 species caught at 120 stations, alongside benthic, temperature, salinity, and litter data. It was collected using GOV and ISAAC-KIDD trawls from the research vessel Cirolana to support EU regulations and the International Bottom Trawl Survey.
A four-year collaborative program from 2014 to 2018 produced baseline scientific analyses and habitat maps for the Darwin Harbour region. Geoscience Australia, the Australian Institute of Marine Science, and the Northern Territory Government Department of Environment and Natural Resources conducted the mapping. The resulting thematic maps are intended to underpin future marine resource management decisions.
Geological mapping and water bore log analysis for the Birdsville 4-mile sheet area in Queensland. The work established a sequence of at least 3,000 feet of Mesozoic sediments and up to 100 feet of Tertiary rocks. The data was published by Geoscience Australia Data and was last updated in April 2026.
Fish Passage Barrier data represents basic information about existing and potential human-caused barriers to fish passage in watercourses. The dataset includes features like dams, culverts, bridges, tide gates, and weirs, along with general passage status. It is provided by the U.S. Department of the Interior and was last updated in April 2026.
Geoscience Australia produced this map for the Australian Fisheries Management Authority to assist with enforcement of maritime boundaries. The data was updated in 2019 to reflect the 2018 Australia/Timor-Leste Maritime Boundaries Treaty. It includes an explanation of applicable boundaries and a list of their coordinates.
A spatial dataset detailing the location of marine species in Wales considered of 'Principle Importance' under Section 7 of the Environment (Wales) Act 2016 and regarded as 'threatened or declining' under the OSPAR Convention. The data includes species such as the pink sea fan, ocean quahog, and various types of maerl and jellyfish. It is aggregated by the Government Digital Service from eu_open_data.
A global compilation of carbon and nutrient concentrations in green and senesced leaves from 86 studies across 31 countries. The data set includes approximately 1,000 data points for each leaf state, covering woody and non-woody vegetation, and was compiled by NASA as described in Vergutz et al (2012). Studies contributing to the compilation were conducted between 1970 and 2009.
Ten Key Ecological Features (KEFs) were identified by the Department of the Environment, Water, Heritage and the Arts in the northwest marine region of Australia. Geoscience Australia investigated habitat heterogeneity for these features, which include the Wallaby Saddle and Scott Reef, to support marine bioregional planning. Seven of the ten KEFs are located in the deep sea, where biodiversity information is scarce.
Data and R code supporting a study on how fungi and oomycetes regulate plant biomass and diversity under warmer grassland conditions. The dataset is 109.5 KB in size and was authored by Peng Zhang. It was last updated on April 28, 2026.
Geoscience Australia produced this map for the Australian Fisheries Management Authority to assist enforcement of maritime boundaries. Originally in Indonesian and translated to English, it uses icons to explain fishing zones to Indonesian fishermen. The map was updated in 2019 to reflect the 2018 Australia/Timor-Leste Maritime Boundaries Treaty.
A report from the UK Government Digital Service containing data for decision-making on ecological system interactions. The project focuses on interactions between land management and water quality, building on the Loweswater catchment study and work with stakeholders like Natural England and the Environment Agency. It also explores the delivery of cultural services and synergies with programs like BESS and VNN.
Fossil data for Upper Triassic corals and spongiomorphs dredged from the Rowley Terrace, offshore Canning Basin of northwestern Australia. The dataset was published by Geoscience Australia and last updated in April 2026. It indicates possible new occurrences of reef facies and compares them to sites in central Europe and the Wombat Plateau.
Geoscience Australia, AIMS, and the Northern Territory DENR produced this second summary report from a four-year collaborative habitat mapping program. The report characterizes marine abiotic patterns, focusing on physical environments like bathymetry and backscatter within the Darwin and Bynoe Harbour region. The program was funded by the INPEX-operated Ichthys LNG Project offset funds and co-investments from the partner agencies.
The 'Cost effective methods to measure extent and condition of habitats: Earth Observation Phase 3' dataset originates from a UK government research project. It contains data from Phase 3 of the 'Making Earth observation work for conservation' series, which aimed to extend habitat mapping techniques to selected upland areas in the UK. The project was conducted by the Government Digital Service to develop a business case for national rollout.
A_Individual_yeast_in_planta_experiment contains data and code from an individual yeast experiment. The dataset was authored by María-José Romero-Jiménez and last updated on 2026-04-22. It includes RMD and CSV files totaling 24.8 KB.
Wales provides a spatial dataset detailing the extent and location of marine habitats considered of 'Principle Importance' under Section 7 of the Environment (Wales) Act 2016 and those regarded as 'threatened or declining' under the OSPAR Convention for the North-East Atlantic. The dataset includes habitats such as Carbonate Reefs, Saltmarsh, Blue Mussel Beds, and Seagrass Beds. It was produced by the Government Digital Service, superseding a previous duty under the NERC Act 2006.
The Darwin Harbour Habitat Mapping Program, funded in December 2010, produced seabed bathymetry compilations for Darwin Harbour in the Northern Territory. The program was managed by the Department of Land Resource Management in collaboration with Geoscience Australia, the Australian Institute of Marine Science, and the Darwin Port Corporation. These MP4 videos are intended for public release to support marine resource management decisions.
Strategic Policy H layers identify protected natural sites within a UK National Park. The policy map is composed of multiple geospatial datasets from the NYMNPA and Natural England, including Special Protection Areas, Special Areas of Conservation, and Sites of Special Scientific Interest. These sites support rare and endangered species, habitats, and natural features.
38kHz Simrad ES60 acoustic data was collected during commercial fishing for spawning blue grenadier off the Tasmanian west coast in 2002. FV Ocean Dawn was one of three factory freezer vessels gathering acoustic and biological data for an FRDC project, with data held by CSIRO Marine Science Acoustic Group in Hobart. The cruise dates provided represent the period for which data is held, which is a subset of the full voyage whose exact start and end dates are not known.
