A series of groundfish surveys were carried out on the fishing vessel Silver Star from 1976 to 1991 in the eastern Irish Sea. This dataset contains the catch data from the three surveys conducted during 1981, including numbers at length by centimetre for main commercial fish species and station positions by area. The data was aggregated by the Government Digital Service.
Southern India, Bangladesh, Java, and Mindanao are covered by spatial maps assessing seed source availability for 21 native tree species. The analysis reveals that, on average, only 34% of seed zones have designated seed sources. The dataset includes species distribution maps, seed zone maps, and gap analysis outputs developed using MaxEnt modeling and environmental clustering.
Victor Coca-Ruiz provides a primer list used for qRT-PCR in a 2026 study comparing the fungal pathogens Botrytis pseudocinerea and Botrytis cinerea. The 5.5 KB Excel file contains sequences for analyzing gene expression related to toxin production and host specialization.
Kamenskoye, Ukraine, municipal records of issued acts authorizing the removal of green spaces for the year 2025. The data was published by the Department of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Kamenskoye City Council and last updated on the platform in April 2026.
25-meter resolution raster data describes land cover across Great Britain and Northern Ireland for 2018. The dataset classifies land using UK Biodiversity Action Plan broad habitats. It was produced by the UK Centre for Ecology & Hydrology and published by the Environmental Information Data Centre.
630 agar plates were incubated for five days to analyze bacterial colony growth. The datasheet summarizes global parameters describing the colony growth dynamics, with steady-state data indicated as 'max'. Jieruiyi Weng authored this dataset, which was last updated on 2026-05-08.
Pacific Herring roe catch data from British Columbia tracks catch sums in metric tonnes across seven stock assessment regions, including Haida Gwaii and the Strait of Georgia. The data is maintained in the Herring stock assessment database and includes catch by geographical location, gear type, and time frame. Records are withheld and marked 'WP' for privacy when fewer than three parties fished in an area and period.
Fisheries and Oceans Canada provides video survey data on bottom-dwelling shrimp and fish abundance along trawling and trapping transects in Simoom Sound, British Columbia. The data was compiled by Meagan Mak for a study comparing the effects of shrimp trawling and trapping gear on marine habitats in November 2000 and February 2001.
Fisheries and Oceans Canada conducted surface water trawl surveys in central and north coast British Columbia from 1995 to 2020. The data, collected from shelf waters shallower than 400 meters, monitors the pelagic ecosystem with a focus on juvenile Pacific Salmon.
Fisheries and Oceans Canada provides a database of benthic habitat mapping from surveys along the north and south coasts of British Columbia. The dataset contains three linked tables for species observations, quadrat observations, and header information, with separate lookup tables for algae, invertebrates, and substrates. Data is collected by divers along transects perpendicular to the shoreline.
Fisheries and Oceans Canada conducts surface water trawl surveys on the continental shelf of north and west Vancouver Island. The surveys, ongoing since 1992, initially focused on juvenile Pacific Salmon migration and physiology before broadening to monitor the whole pelagic ecosystem in 2016. Data are collected for tows in waters shallower than 400 meters.
A 2015 survey estimated the total Speckled Dace population in the West Kettle River at 8,978 fish, with only 1,014 adults. The data originates from night-time pole seining surveys conducted over four days in October to enumerate this endangered freshwater fish. It was collected by Fisheries and Oceans Canada to inform critical habitat designation under the Species at Risk Act.
Fisheries and Oceans Canada conducted a project in 2018 and 2019 to relocate endangered American Eel from Port Dalhousie Harbour. The dataset contains passive capture data, with four eels captured and relocated to Hamilton Harbour. Two of the eels were tagged with acoustic transmitters and returned to Port Dalhousie.
40 years of biological samples from harvested ringed seals in the Canadian Arctic, collected through a partnership with Inuit hunters and community organizations. The data includes field measurements like sex and blubber depth to evaluate environmental stressors and seal health.
Wanxin Cai published a dataset on figshare in April 2026, focusing on the invasive pest Stictocephala bisonia. The dataset is 6.0 KB in size and is licensed under CC-BY-4.0. It likely contains data related to differential expression of chemosensory and odorant-binding proteins and candidate insecticide resistance genes.
An R script authored by Olivia Carmstedt generates statistical analyses and visualizations for a neurobiological study. The script is associated with a manuscript investigating how screen-based social exposure affects brain development. It was last updated on May 18, 2026.
Olivia Carmstedt's pilot study raw data analyzes the effects of screen-based social exposure on brain development in fish. The dataset includes treatment type and time spent per individual and trial, used for statistical analyses. It was last updated on May 18, 2026.
DIDSON imaging sonar data collected to quantify fish avoidance or attraction biases relative to mobile sampling vehicles. The Northwest Fisheries Science Center's FRAM Marine Habitat Ecology Team built databases from information collected during the 2014 and 2015 field seasons, with ongoing analysis in 2016. The team planned further field research in the Southern California Bight for 2016.
Areas of Interest (AOIs) mark the initial stage of the Marine Protected Area establishment process under Canada's Oceans Act. The dataset, provided by Fisheries and Oceans Canada, outlines candidate zones for protection, with the last update recorded on March 24, 2026. The process involves ecological and socioeconomic assessments, boundary setting, and stakeholder consultation.
Since the early 1970s, the Fish Pathology Program has assessed aquatic animal health using traditional diagnostic methods. The dataset contains information from diagnostic fish health cases submitted by programs including the Salmonid Enhancement Program, Research, and the public. It includes pathogen findings from cases across the Pacific Region of Canada.
