MNF Underway Data: Marine and Atmospheric Measurements
Processed Underway data from Marine National Facility voyages provides continuous 5-second interval measurements across three core systems. Navigation data includes latitude, longitude, speed, and heading, while the thermosalinograph records water salinity, temperature, and fluorescence. Atmospheric sensors capture wind speed, humidity, air pressure, solar radiation, and trace gases, with quality-controlled subsets used for satellite sea surface temperature validation by the Australian Bureau of Meteorology.
