Capricorn and Northern Tasman Basins: Marine Seismic Survey Data

A marine multi-channel seismic reflection survey was conducted off southeast Queensland in December 1989. The Bureau of Mineral Resources research cruise acquired 2900 km of seismic data over the Capricorn Basin and northern Tasman Basin margins, along with sonobuoy refraction, gravity, magnetic, and bathymetric data. It was the first such survey in the region since 1974 and tied to the Aquarius-1 and Capricorn-1A wells.
