Milwaukee Domestic Violence Experiment Data on Arrest Procedures, 1987-1989

From April 1987 to August 1988, data were collected for the Milwaukee Domestic Violence Experiment to examine how suspects' perceptions of procedural fairness affected subsequent violence. The experiment randomly assigned misdemeanor domestic battery cases to one of three conditions: a warning with no arrest, a brief arrest, or a longer arrest. Variables include demographic and background information, as well as descriptive variables pertaining to the domestic violence incident.
