Description
The Ninmaroo Formation comprises ooid, peloid, flat-pebble conglomerate, skeletal, and mixed carbonate lithofacies, terrigenous sandstones, and a late diagenetic crystalline dolostone lithofacies. This dataset from the Australian Ocean Data Network describes sedimentation in a broad, shallow epicontinental sea under normal marine, saline, and evaporitic conditions, with lithofacies patterns indicating two regressive depositional sequences. The record was last updated on 2026-06 04.
Use Cases
Classifying carbonate lithofacies based on described sediment types like ooid, peloid, and skeletal sands.
Modeling paleoenvironmental conditions based on described normal marine, saline, and evaporitic settings.
