Grooved surfaces in Grant Group rocks provide evidence for Late Palaeozoic ice sheets in Western Australia. The orientation of grooves and sedimentary structures indicate ice motion from the south-southeast, while pebbles suggest the ice originated in the Pilbara Block and extended 400 km into the Canning Basin.
