Terms of Service
Effective July 27, 2026
These Terms are an agreement between you and Shanghai Bouncy Labs Co., Ltd. (the "Company," "we," "us," or "our"), based in Shanghai, China. The Company operates DataSalon as a globally available service, including its websites, applications, APIs, account features, and dataset discovery services (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age required to enter a binding agreement where you live. You are responsible for access to your email and connected identity-provider accounts, and for activity performed through your DataSalon session.
DataSalon currently provides passwordless email, GitHub, and Google sign-in. It does not provide self-service OAuth unlinking or an account-recovery workflow. Do not share authentication codes or browser sessions.
2. The Service
DataSalon indexes, normalizes, ranks, and enriches metadata from public and third-party data sources. A listing does not mean that DataSalon owns, hosts, endorses, or guarantees the underlying dataset. Access and reuse remain subject to the source's license, terms, and applicable law.
3. Acceptable use
You may not use the Service to:
- break the law or infringe another person's rights;
- bypass authentication, rate limits, or security controls;
- upload malware or interfere with the Service or its users;
- scrape or automate access in a way that degrades the Service;
- misrepresent dataset ownership, licensing, provenance, or your identity.
4. User content
You retain rights in content you submit. You grant the Company a non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, reproduce, display, and process that content only as needed to operate, secure, and improve the Service. You represent that you have the rights required to submit it.
5. Availability and changes
The Service may change, suspend, or discontinue. We may restrict an account when reasonably necessary to protect users, comply with law, or address security or misuse. We will use reasonable efforts to give notice of material changes when practicable.
6. Disclaimers and liability
The Service and dataset metadata are provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Company disclaims implied warranties and is not responsible for third-party datasets, links, licenses, or provider outages.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Company will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits, or business opportunities. These limits do not exclude liability that cannot legally be limited.
7. Disputes and applicable law
These Terms and any dispute relating to the Service are subject to applicable law. Please contact the Company first so we can try to resolve a dispute informally. Mandatory consumer-protection rights and jurisdiction rules remain unaffected.
8. Contact
Legal notices and questions for the Company may be sent to [email protected]. The operator's public contact location is Shanghai, China.
