Two synthetic polymers were tested for temperature stability between 100 and 220°C under 35 bar pressure, simulating oil well cementing conditions. The study, authored by Constantin Tiemeyer of the Technical University of Munich, assessed fluid loss performance via high-pressure filtration tests and polymer conformation via dynamic light scattering. The AMPS-based polymer showed reduced performance due to chain shrinkage, while the AHPS-based additive maintained stable fluid loss control.
