Near-infrared emission at 800 nm is achieved in transparent thin films of a copper(I) thiocyanate complex via an unconventional excited-state symmetry breaking mechanism. The dataset, published by Saran Waiprasoet on figshare in April 2026, contains structural and spectroscopic analyses supporting this finding. It documents a material with a large optical gap exceeding 3 eV and a Stokes shift of approximately 15,000 cm⁻¹.
