Pin-on-disk tribological tests evaluate the friction and wear of a Babbitt alloy coating in contact with ABNT 1045 steel. The study, authored by Rafael Martins Ribeiro, varied coating thickness in three levels from 0.45 ± 0.07 mm to 1.08 ± 0.17 mm and roughness from 0.43 ± 0.03 μm to 1.29 ± 0.20 μm. Results show the friction coefficient increased from 0.05 ± 0.02 to 0.46 ± 0.06 for specific parameter combinations.
