Over 150 identified species were documented in a year-long Antarctic marine biology program at Davis Station. The survey, prepared by Mark Tucker for the Australian Antarctic Division, systematically collected benthic, planktonic, pelagic, and epontic fauna from the Vestfold Hills region throughout 1982. Quantitative examinations of seasonal changes were conducted monthly at three distinct sampling sites.
1984-1989 data from NOAA's National Status and Trends program measuring toxins in coastal sediments and bivalve tissues. It includes chemical analyses for DDT, PAHs, PCBs, pesticides, trace elements, and tributyltin from 177 fixed monitoring sites along U.S. Atlantic and Pacific coasts. The data originates from the Benthic Surveillance and Mussel Watch projects.
Approximately 890,000 fish of 237 species were collected during a stratified trawl survey in Albatross Bay between 1986 and 1988. The data originates from 7 research cruises conducted by the CSIRO Marine Laboratories' Tropical Fish Ecology Project. It captures species composition, abundance, and predator-prey relationships for prawn species.
Periphyton data collected from 2010 to 2022 at streams in Glacier National Park, Grant-Kohrs Ranch Historical Site, Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument, and Rocky Mountain National Park. The data package contains four datasets covering all algal samples, diatom samples, Didymosphenia geminata samples, and site/event information. Data was collected by the Department of the Interior for long-term monitoring of stream ecological condition.
425 fisheries-independent benthic trawls collected data on fish species in southern California waters at depths from 2 to 215 meters. The Southern California Coastal Water Research Project (SCCWRP) conducted the trawls during summer months, resulting in information for 150 species, though analysis focused on 48 species present in at least 5% of trawls. Site groups were calculated using the Bray-Curtis dissimilarity coefficient with average means clustering.
Data from 477 fishery-independent trawls conducted by the National Marine Fisheries Service Groundfish Survey Program between June and November in the years 1977, 1989, 1992, 1995, and 1997-2002. The dataset contains information on 59 fish species, filtered to those present in at least 5% of trawls, collected at depths ranging from 55 to 1200 meters.
Geochemical data from deep-sea floor sediments collected at 1300 to 2423 meters water depth on the Lord Howe Rise and Gifford Guyot off eastern Australia. The dataset includes mineralogy, organic carbon and nitrogen concentrations and isotopes, and major and trace element concentrations, intended for habitat and biodiversity surrogate development. Surface sediments were characterized as carbon-lean calcareous oozes with specific chlorin index ranges.
Stable isotope analysis of blood and whisker samples from adult female Antarctic fur seals across three Southern Ocean colonies. Data collection spans up to 11 years, from 2008 to 2018, at Marion Island, Bird Island, and Cape Shirreff. The study aims to examine temporal, spatial, and individual variation in trophic ecology, positioning these seals as sentinels of ecosystem change.
Caio S. Ballarin provides raw data and code for an ecological network analysis, as referenced in a manuscript. The dataset is 935.2 KB in size and was last updated on April 3, 2026. It is available under a CC-BY-4.0 license.
Acorn worm distribution, abundance, and trail-forming behavior data from large-scale deep-sea mapping surveys along Australia's eastern and western continental margins. This study provides the first quantification of these factors within Australian waters and evidence of strong depth-related distributions. The dataset is provided by Geoscience Australia Data and was last updated in March 2026.
Bogue Sound, North Carolina, is the focus of this benthic habitat dataset derived from 1:20,000 scale aerial photography collected in 1992. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Office for Coastal Management produced these GIS shapefiles, which classify habitats using the System for Classification of Habitats in Estuarine and Marine Environments (SCHEME). The imagery was orthorectified to a 0.85-meter pixel resolution and digitized using specialized ArcGIS tools.
A 185.8 KB text document summarizing recent advances in the bidirectional regulatory relationship between autophagy and phytohormone signaling in plants. Authored by Qing Pang and last updated on March 18, 2026, it is available under a CC-BY-4.0 license on figshare.
Supplementary file 1 from a study evaluating the anti-cellular senescence effect of Ectoine on H2O2-induced oxidative stress in HaCaT and EA.hy926 cells. The dataset includes results from CCK-8, EdU, SA-β-gal staining, ROS measurement, flow cytometry, qRT‒PCR, and Western blot assays. The file was authored by Meini Li and last updated on 2026-03-18.
A 15.1 KB document authored by Elif Karakoç, last updated on March 18, 2026. It describes multiple observed instances of playfighting between adult black-and-white ruffed lemurs and juvenile ring-tailed lemurs in a captive setting. The author notes this is likely the first documented case of such behavior between these two species.
Digoxin, a widely prescribed cardiac drug, has a partially understood biosynthetic pathway. This research article identifies the subcellular localization of three key enzymes in Digitalis lanata, revealing endoplasmic reticulum and cytosol targeting. The findings were published by Viviane Zeng in March 2026.
A 663.3 KB document uploaded to figshare on March 18, 2026, by Quan Rao under a CC-BY-4.0 license. It details a plant metabolomics study using LC-IT-TOF/MS to analyze how liquorice processing alters the chemical composition of the herb Tripterygium wilfordii Hook F (TwHF). The research identifies differential compounds potentially linked to reduced toxicity.
A 13.0 KB Excel file contains results from a study using K18-hACE2 transgenic mice to investigate the gut-lung axis during SARS-CoV-2 infection. The data, authored by Gi-Cheon Kim and last updated in March 2026, likely includes measurements of weight loss, lung pathology, immune cell phenotypes, and cytokine production. Prophylactic administration of the gut bacterium Akkermansia muciniphila was found to enhance local antiviral immunity and reduce disease severity.
