Records from 1994 onward were used to model the current indicative distribution of the critically endangered Hanley's River Snail in New South Wales. The NSW Department of Primary Industries created this dataset by collating species records and modeling probabilities of occurrence using MaxEnt software with 30 stream variables. The data integrates the Australian Hydrological Geospatial Fabric V2 network, National Environmental Stream Attributes Database, and River Styles® geomorphology classifications.
This decommissioned dataset provided global, cloud-free vegetation indices every 16 days from 2000 to July 31, 2023. It contains two primary vegetation layers: the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) for continuity with historical NOAA data and the Enhanced Vegetation Index (EVI) for improved sensitivity in high biomass regions. The data is projected on a 0.05-degree Climate Modeling Grid, with fields for VI quality assurance, reflectance, angular information, and spatial statistics.
MODIS/Aqua Vegetation Indices 16-Day L3 Global 0.05Deg CMG V006 provides global, cloud-free composites of vegetation data at a 0.05-degree resolution. The dataset includes two primary vegetation layers, the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) and the Enhanced Vegetation Index (EVI), along with quality assurance, reflectance, and spatial statistics fields. This Version 6 product was decommissioned by NASA in July 2023, with users directed to the updated Version 6.1.
Xie et al. (2020) produced a quantitative mapping of the East Australian Current (EAC) using Himawari-8 satellite sea surface temperature (SST) data. The dataset covers the period from July 2015 to September 2017 and maps the EAC's spatial structure, meanders, eddies, and encroachment patterns using a Topographic Position Index method. The study relates SST signatures to surface current speeds and analyzes temporal variability on eddy-shedding and seasonal timescales.
From June 16 to August量与 24, 2005, this dataset contains four daily atmospheric soundings launched from Juan Santamaria International Airport in Costa Rica. The Tropical Cloud Systems and Processes (TCSP) mission, led by NASA, used Vaisala radiosondes on weather balloons to collect high-resolution profiles of atmospheric conditions. Its primary goal was to document cyclogenesis and improve understanding of how tropical storms and hurricanes form and intensify.
Global atmospheric profiles are derived from the Suomi NPP satellite's CrIS/ATMS instruments using the CLIMCAPS algorithm. The dataset includes full-atmosphere profiles of temperature, water vapor, ozone, and trace gases like carbon monoxide and methane, alongside surface and cloud properties. Data is provided as Level 2 granules, each representing a 6-minute observation window.
CLIMCAPS V2 algorithm processes data from the NOAA-20 satellite's CrIS and ATMS instruments, which have 2211 infrared and 22 microwave channels, to produce a monthly gridded atmospheric state. This Level 3 product includes full atmospheric profiles of temperature, water vapor, ozone, and trace gases like carbon monoxide and methane at a one-degree latitude/longitude resolution. The data characterizes surface properties, cloud top features, and atmospheric composition for climate and air quality monitoring.
Global daily one-degree gridded data from the Suomi NPP satellite's CrIS/ATMS instruments, processed by the CLIMCAPS algorithm. The dataset provides full atmospheric state profiles, including temperature, water vapor, ozone, and trace gases like carbon monoxide, methane, and sulfur dioxide. It also includes surface properties and cloud characteristics derived from 2211 infrared and 22 microwave channels.
CLIMCAPS V2 data from the Suomi NPP satellite's CrIS/ATMS instruments provides full atmospheric state profiles. The algorithm uses Optimal Estimation to retrieve surface properties and profiles of temperature, water vapor, ozone, and trace gases like carbon monoxide and methane from 1305 infrared and 22 microwave channels. A known bias exists in the 'co_mmr_midtrop' variable, requiring a correction factor of 28.01/44.01.
CLIMCAPS algorithm retrieves full atmospheric state profiles from the AIRS and AMSU instruments aboard NASA's Aqua satellite. The temperature profile has a vertical resolution of 100 levels between 1100 mb and 0.1 mb, with a horizontal resolution of 50 km. Retrieved parameters include surface properties, cloud characteristics, and profiles of temperature, water vapor, ozone, carbon monoxide, methane, and carbon dioxide.
CLIMCAPS algorithm retrieves full atmospheric state profiles from the AIRS instrument aboard NASA's Aqua satellite. The dataset includes 100-level temperature profiles from 1100 mb to 0.1 mb, moisture profiles up to 300 mb, and trace gas concentrations for carbon monoxide, methane, and ozone at a 50 km horizontal resolution. It provides surface properties, cloud characteristics, and column densities for gases like sulfur dioxide and nitric acid, characterizing the atmospheric column for climate and air quality studies.
A 1 km resolution marine model quantifies the dispersal of the pesticide diuron into Great Barrier Reef waters from 16 rivers. The simulation period spans from January 2016 to July 2018, using a hydrodynamic model forced by wind, tides, and waves to calculate hourly diuron fluctuations in each model cell. This dataset was produced by the Australian Ocean Data Network to assess pesticide loads against water quality guidelines.
The Lord Howe Rise, east of Australia, is the focus of marine geophysical data acquired in March–May 2016. The dataset includes a 680 km seismic refraction profile, ~600 km of 2D seismic reflection data, and multibeam bathymetry, gravity, and magnetic data. Preliminary results from this survey were presented at the 2016 Seismological Society of Japan Fall Meeting.
A geological study of the Jurassic and Lower Cretaceous sandstones in the Eromanga Basin, New South Wales. The dataset, provided by the Australian Ocean Data Network, describes diagenetic processes and quantifies porosity and permeability for quartzose and volcanolithic petrofacies. It was last updated on 2026-06-05.
A study projects Gymnodactylus amarali, a nocturnal lizard from the Brazilian Cerrado, will lose over 96% of its climatically suitable range by the end of the century. The research combines correlative, mechanistic, and hybrid species distribution models with biophysical simulations to assess range dynamics and thermal constraints. Authored by Ticiane de Lima Costa and last updated in May 2026, the dataset is shared under a CC-BY-4.0 license.
1990 to 2018 raw data from river and lake monitoring sites in Northern Ireland, collected for Water Framework Directive (WFD) compliance. The dataset includes physico-chemical parameters like dissolved oxygen, temperature, and nutrients, but requires processing for status assessment due to missing detection limits and potential errors. It is the first in a series of water quality datasets released as open data by the Northern Ireland government.
Raw data from Northern Ireland's river monitoring sites, collected under the Water Framework Directive from 1990 to 2018, includes measurements for nitrite and other physico-chemical properties. This dataset is the first in a series of open water data releases from the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA). Surface water status assessments rely on this data for biological, hydromorphological, and physico-chemical criteria, but the raw values require processing and contain potential errors.
