April 2008 survey aboard the RV Southern Surveyor mapping the morphology and benthic environments of the Lord Howe Island shelf and its submarine volcano flanks. The data was collected by a collaboration between the University of Wollongong and Geoscience Australia under the CERF Marine Biodiversity Hub. It aims to understand reef growth history at the southern limit of reef formation and links between physical environment and biodiversity distribution.
206% average methane supersaturation was measured in the top 5 meters of the Ragay Gulf, Philippines. The dataset contains vertical distribution measurements of methane, revealing mid-water and bottom-water plumes likely of thermogenic origin. It was published by the Australian Ocean Data Network and last updated in April 2026.
Wind profile data derived from raw radiosonde measurements collected during the FIFE field experiment. The dataset contains atmospheric profiles of wind velocity and direction, corrected for sensor delays and interpolated to standard pressure levels. Data was collected by Dr. Wilfred H. Brutsaert during the summer and fall of 1987 and the late summer of 1989.
ISS-RapidScat Level 2B data provides ocean surface wind vectors binned on a 12.5 km grid, processed from Ku-band scatterometer measurements. This climate quality version uses full ~20-km antenna footprints and modified calibration for consistent data across low signal-to-noise periods from August 2015 to February 2016. The dataset covers latitudes from approximately 61 degrees North to 61 degrees South, delivered in netCDF format.
NASA's Convective Processes Experiment – Cabo Verde collected these radiosonde measurements from September 1 to 29, 2022. The dataset includes profiles of wind direction, dew point temperature, geopotential height, mixing ratio, atmospheric pressure, relative humidity, wind speed, and multiple temperature metrics across the troposphere. These data were gathered from the NASA DC-8 aircraft based in Sal Island to study atmospheric dynamics and the Saharan Air Layer in the tropical East Atlantic.
Collated data from over 200 benchmark monitoring stations across Australia, from Westernport Bay, Victoria to Darwin Harbour, NT, as of 2022. The Australian Ocean Data Network consolidated Surface Elevation Table (SET) measurements to assess vertical adjustment of tidal wetlands to sea-level rise. This data enables measurement of whether wetlands are keeping pace with or subsiding relative to local sea-level rise.
NASA/NOAA's Suomi NPP VIIRS BRDF/Albedo Model Parameters (VNP43C1) product provides daily global data at a 0.05-degree resolution for climate simulation models. It contains 39 layers, including the three RossThick/Li-Sparse-Reciprocal BRDF model parameters (fiso, fvol, fgeo) for 13 spectral bands and five ancillary layers for quality assessment. The data is generated daily using a 16-day moving window of reflectance observations to characterize surface anisotropy.
The Coral Sea Marine Park was surveyed by the RV Investigator voyage IN2025_V06 between October 10 and November 14, 2025. The archive contains raw data from over 40 instruments, including multibeam echosounders, CTDs, environmental DNA samplers, and atmospheric sensors. Data is curated by CSIRO's National Collections and Marine Infrastructure Information and Data Centre.
Boreal forest fire events from 2002 to 2022 are documented in this spatial vector dataset. It includes 20 attribute fields covering fire characteristics, location, weather, fuel, and human activity levels. The dataset was created by Cong Gao and last updated on 2026-04-27.
A 2015 study in Bass Strait acoustically tagged three shark species and analyzed Commonwealth fisheries logbook data from 2012-2015 to quantify seismic survey impacts. Only 35% of gummy sharks and 30% of swell sharks were detected two days post-release, while tiger flathead showed altered swimming speeds and diel patterns. Catch rates changed for nine of fifteen modeled species in the six months following the seismic operations.
NASA's Cloud Radar System (CRS) IMPACTS dataset contains calibrated airborne radar measurements from the ER-2 high-altitude research aircraft. Data was collected during the three-year IMPACTS field campaign from January 2020 to February 2023 to study snowstorms over the U.S. Atlantic Coast. The dataset includes radar reflectivity, Doppler velocity, linear depolarization ratio, and normalized radar cross-section estimates stored in HDF-5 format.
The NASA TROPESS project provides vertical profiles of atmospheric ozone and ammonia measured by the AIRS and OMI satellite instruments. Data is global, spans from February 1, 2021 to the present, and is reported at 26 vertical levels for ozone and 15 for ammonia. The principal investigator is Kevin W. Bowman.
Open Canada hosts polygon data representing the 3-30-300 rule for urban forestry, developed by researcher Cecil Konijnendijk. The layers support planning for 500,000 tree plantings by 2030 under Montreal's Climate Plan and identify vulnerable sectors for greening projects.
Ruihua Nie's dataset contains field survey data on channel degradation in foreland rivers of the Longmen Mountains in China. The data was collected after the 2008 Wenchuan Earthquake and is shared under a CC-BY-4.0 license. The dataset was last updated on 2026-05-21.
An End of Voyage archive from the RV Investigator's IN2026_V01 'Cook Ice Ecosystems and Sediments' expedition. The voyage occurred between January 02, 2026 and February 25, 2026, departing from and returning to Hobart. The archive is curated by CSIRO's National Collections and Marine Infrastructure Information and Data Centre.
Snowpack measurements from the Boreal Ecosystem-Atmosphere Study (BOREAS) HYD-03 team include snow depth, layer-by-layer snow density, integrated snow water equivalent (SWE), and physical properties from snow pit evaluations. Data were collected in 1994 and 1996 from multiple sites within the Southern and Northern Study Areas (SSA and NSA) of the boreal forest. This dataset was created to predict spatial distributions of snow properties critical for hydrology, remote sensing validation, and modeling gas transmissivity through snow.
The RV Investigator voyage IN2023_V05 collected data from June 28, 2023 to July 30, 2023, departing from and returning to Hobart.
