The Mid-Atlantic Bight and other seas contain temperature and other oceanographic data collected from 01 August 1985 to 26 May 1990. Data were gathered using visual observations, bottle casts, and other instruments from the GYRE and other platforms. The Battelle Marine Research Laboratory in New England collected this data with support from the Ocean Dumping project.
Once-daily synoptic maps of solar brightness temperature on a 25x21 grid provide a decade-long view of the Sun's activity. The National Solar Observatory at Sacramento Peak collected this data from January 1964 to July 1973. Stanford University later provided the dataset to NASA's Distributed Active Archive Center.
NOAA_NCEI Accession 7800407 contains plankton and other data collected from the Bering Sea using a zooplankton net. The data were gathered from NOAA Ship MILLER FREEMAN between April 16 and May 15, 1977, by the National Marine Fisheries Service. Collection was supported by the Outer Continental Shelf Environmental Assessment Program (OCSEAP).
Plankton and other data were collected from net casts in the Gulf of Alaska and Bering Sea aboard the NOAA Ship MILLER FREEMAN. The data collection occurred from April 26 to May 31, 1976, and was submitted by the National Marine Fisheries Service with support from the Outer Continental Shelf Environmental Assessment Program.
From 26 July to 26 August 1994, phytoplankton data were collected via net casts from the USCGC POLAR SEA in the Arctic Ocean. The dataset was submitted by Oregon State University as part of a joint Canada/U.S. expedition project. It is archived by NOAA's National Centers for Environmental Information.
Scripps Institute of Oceanography collected physical and meteorological data from buoys and fixed platforms for over two years. The North Pacific Study Program data spans from June 30, 1969, to September 14, 1971. An analog file is available from NODC user services, but digital links are not currently provided.
CTD cast data from the R/V Alpha Helix in the Gulf of Alaska was collected by the University of Alaska Fairbanks Institute of Marine Science. The dataset includes measurements of temperature, salinity, pressure, photosynthetically active radiation, and oxygen concentrations. Data collection occurred from August 26 to December 7, 1999 in support of the Global Ocean Ecosystems Dynamics project.
Physical and meteorological data were collected from the R/V COLUMBUS ISELIN in the North Atlantic Ocean. The Virginia Institute of Marine Science gathered the data over a nine-day period from October 28 to November 5, 1975, using a sediment sampler and other instruments. Data collection was supported by the Outer Continental Shelf - Mid Atlantic (OCS-Mid Atlantic) project.
Bottle cast data from the Sargasso Sea provides physical and chemical measurements from three research vessels over an 11-month period in 1988. Dr. Margarita Gregg of the Bermuda Institute of Ocean Science submitted the data, which was collected under the Bermuda Atlantic Time Series (BATS) and Joint Global Ocean Flux Study (JGOFS) projects. The dataset captures oceanic conditions from January to December 1988.
NOAA_NCEI Accession 9600058 contains physical and chemical oceanographic data collected via aircraft-deployed AXBT probes and bottle casts. The dataset covers observations in the Mediterranean Sea from September 30, 1985 to July 31, 1992. Data collection was conducted by the US Navy Naval Oceanographic Office with support from the Physical Oceanography of the Eastern Mediterranean (POEM) project.
