Matthias Ruf from the University of Stuttgart created a micro-X-ray computed tomography dataset of a Carrara marble core with a diameter of 5 mm. The dataset includes projection and reconstructed images of a sample subjected to a thermal treatment to initiate cracks: heating to 600°C at 3 K/min, holding for 2 hours, and quenching in water. The sample was extracted from a larger 30 mm diameter, 80 mm length core.
